Mabel & Etta | Dog photography Ontario
I photographed chocolate labs Etta and Mabel in early December. Although fall technically goes until late December, here in Southern Ontario you never know what the weather will be like at this time of year – it could be mild or there could be snow on the ground. That’s part of what makes dog photography in Ontario so unique – we’re so lucky to experience a variety of seasons and scenery throughout the year!

It turns out the timing was perfect for these two girls. The snow held off and it was still pretty warm for this time of year. The leaves had long fallen, but the tall grasses and rustic colours of fall were still beautiful and suited Mabel and Etta perfectly.
Each season has its beauty, including the “in-between” periods that are often overlooked. For some breeds in particular, such as hunting breeds, or dogs with brown, tan or neutral colour fur, late fall can really make them shine. I photograph all year – winter, spring, summer and fall – weather permitting.
I don’t think there’s anything better than spending an afternoon on the trails with two happy, lovable labs. With the ramp up to the crazy Christmas season following, it was a pleasure to enjoy some fresh air and snuggles with these two girls!
