Chloe turns nine |Bronte Creek Provincial Park dog photography

I can’t believe Chloe is nine! When I look back over her images, I can see how her face has changed — she now has a very defined golden “mask”, which has turned more white as she ages. It is bittersweet. I love senior dogs and I love Chloe at this age, but it’s undeniable that she is getting older. We found our first lump this year (it was just a fatty mass thank goodness) and although she still runs like stink for the ball, she can only do it a few times before needing a rest. That said, she still has lots of “nut” left in her! You can read Chloe’s adoption story and more about her from last year’s birthday.

This year for her birthday we took her to the Bronte Provincial Park off-leash dog park, which is close our house. It was our first time and everyone loved it so much we went once in the morning and again in the evening! It’s a series of trails through a beautiful naturalized area that we felt completely comfortable letting Chloe explore on her own. She doesn’t enjoy the fenced in dog parks, where all the dogs are in close proximity — she’s actually not that social when it comes to other dogs … it’s really the people she’s most interested in.

It was nice to spend time with Chloe doing some Bronte Creek Provincial Park dog photography with my most difficult, but favourite model. We love you Chloe!
