Meet Einstein. He likes walks and treats and his people. And he’s 20 years old!

Einstein is a Jack Russell, and he’s blind and deaf. He still gets around, although his back legs are weak and he prefers laying down to sitting. Like any senior, Einstein is enjoying his golden years with lots of sleeping, some TV watching and quality time with his family, who are obviously deeply in love with him.

The day we met, Einstein was having some difficulty lifting his head and was having a case of the spins — when you put him down he would start circling in the same direction over and over again. But for his age, I was impressed at how well he got around and he made it through his session like a trooper. No matter the age, fresh smells always perk a dog up!

It was a wonderful honour to meet such a resilient pup! Here’s to many more lazy afternoon naps Einstein!
