Bob | Burlington pet photographer
It’s been almost a year since my last blog post – I blame it on the pandemic! Seriously, the last year has just taken the wind out of me, as it has for a lot of people. Pivoting back and forth from in-person school to virtual school for my son, the province moving in and out of lockdowns, shutdowns and colour-coded zones, trying to work full-time from home while parenting … it’s all been challenging. Like most small businesses, the pandemic also affected Happy Tails. For my part-time work as a Burlington pet photographer, I had fewer sessions last year, but happily, one of those sessions was with Bob.

I met Bob in November, between provincial lockdowns. He’s a senior golden retriever and former therapy dog. Needless to say, I really enjoyed my time with Bob! The goal of his session was to get really nice portraits of him, and to capture memories of Bob with his owners’ teenage daughter, who will soon be going off to college. My first dog was a golden retriever named Chelsey, who was with me growing up, from age 9 to 21 – she passed away while I was out of province at university and I wish I had photos like these of us. What a great gift of wonderful memories this is.
I think that dogs have been a real gift during this pandemic, and have helped our physical health and mental well-being. We can lean on them on the hard days and take joy in their unconditional love. A photography session is a wonderful way to commemorate your pet and the love you share (view my COVID-19 safety protocols) – you can contact me for more information.
