best dog kisses of 2012 | ontario pet photographer
Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! Since it’s the day of love, I thought the perfect way to celebrate is to look back over the best dog kisses I photographed in 2012! There is usually lots of love during a Happy Tails session, and when I ask an owner to snuggle their pup, lots of slobbery doggie kisses are sure to follow. I love capturing those moments! Many of the shots are outtakes or “blooper” shots, but they are all sweet and yes, kind of funny. In fact, some of the people in the following photos have never even seen these shots until now.
When selecting the best dog kisses of 2012, I judged the smooches on 1) amount of tongue (on the dog’s part … I hope!) 2) owner reaction and 3) the dog’s effort.
First up is Ellie, the bernese mountain dog puppy. I love this kiss because it was a total surprise – you can see that Jaime, the recipient, is trying not to laugh because that would mean opening her mouth!
Next up is Teddy, who though small in stature, is willing to s-t-r-e-t-ch for contact.
Definitely one of the sweetest kisses was from Goat – he’s such a big lug. I can tell he is a nuzzler.
Here is Shelby and her person Jayme. I have a feeling Jayme gets A LOT of kisses from this fuzzbum.
I couldn’t forget about bernedoodle Stella — she is tails ahead when it comes to tongue length and coverage. She got Jenna good!
And finally, the best kiss of 2012 goes to …. Cesaer! He was not even my client – I was there for a Celebration Session with Holly, the cat. I tried to group everyone together at the end of the session for a family photo and Cesaer couldn’t resist showing his affection. This is even more notable because he was relatively new to the family, only being adopted a short time before we met up. Holly the cat is a good sport — pretty tolerant of dog kisses — but I think his “why me?” expression shows his true feelings about the whole situation!
I hope your Valentine’s Day is filled with lots of slobbery, stinky-breath kisses from your pooch!
