bernese mountain dog puppy at the park | burlington pet photographer

bernese mountain dog with family and sun flare in Ontario.

When Jaime contacted me for a photography session in early summer I was over the moon excited because her four-legged furkid Ellie was a bernese mountain dog puppy, one of my favourite breeds (I know, I say this about every breed!). We had to delay Ellie’s session a few times however, due to a few health issues (all is well, she’s completely fine), and I began to wonder if I would be photographing a puppy after all.

When we finally met in October I felt like I already knew Ellie and her family because we had been emailing so much. Well, not Ellie — no thumbs and all — but you know what I mean. Ellie was nine-months-old by then, and although she had already grown into herself, she still had that goofy, still-discovering-the-world personality of a puppy. We had a great time exploring the park during a gorgeous autumn afternoon — I’m glad we waited because a bernese and the fall colours is pretty much a perfect match. Ellie is the first pet Jaime and Marcus have owned together as a couple, and it is clear how loved she is.

Ellie loves sticks … she REALLY loves them. The bigger the stick, the better!

Ellie, you are lovely – it was well worth the wait to meet you!
