COVID-19 safety and pet photography sessions

Now that photographers in Halton Region have permission to start operating again, I’m starting to book sessions with safety protocols in place. Here’s how I plan to proceed and the COVID-19 safety precautions I’m implementing:

COVID-19 safety protocols

  • Only required people may attend the session. That means that if you want photos of  your pet only, then just the owner should attend. If you want to be in some of the images with your pet, only the people being photographed may attend the session, and they must be from the same household.
  • We will practice social distancing, with six feet between us at all times.
  • I’ll be photographing outdoors only. For now, sessions will take place at a few select locations in the Halton area that I know well, and where I know there’s enough space that social distancing can be maintained. All of these locations are lovely and offer a variety of fields, trails and forests. If your pet is elderly or terminally ill and can’t travel to one of these locations, a session in your backyard may be possible (let me know if this applies to you when you inquire).
  • I won’t be handling your pet’s leash and I’ll bring my own treats (as I usually do) to our session. I’ll ask in advance if your pet has any food allergies.
  • We will all wear masks (you can take it off if you’re in the photo with your pet) and I’ll carry hand sanitizer.
  • When I contact you in advance of our session date to confirm details (typically 48 hours prior), I’ll ask screening questions to ensure that you don’t have any COVID-19 symptoms.
  • If you’re feeling unwell the day of your session, please contact me to reschedule. I’m very flexible in terms of rescheduling and there’s no fee/penalty to reschedule your session date.
  • I’ll greet you with a dorky wave (as I usually do), rather than a handshake!

Thankfully, photographing outdoors is my specialty, so the quality and style of the photographs I deliver won’t change. If you have any questions about these safety protocols or if you want to book a session date, please contact me. I’m looking forward to meeting you and your pet – I’ve missed photographing all the sweet faces and making memories for you!
