Vippy | Oakville cat photographer
Last summer, a client called with unexpected news. Her cat, Jiggy, who I photographed as a kitten, had passed away suddenly from an undiagnosed heart condition. She was devastated and it broke my heart. I saw how much she loved Jiggy and how he was a big part of her world. She said she wasn’t sure if she could ever have another cat. It was several months later when she got in touch to let me know she had a new kitten (it’s an honour to be her Oakville cat photographer!). I kind of knew she would – she just loves cats and I couldn’t picture her without a feline in her life.
VIPPY | OAKVILLE CAT PHOTOGRAPHER
So, let me introduce you to Vippy! He’s a beautiful British shorthair, and when I met him he was five months old. Also new in my client’s life: a big home renovation. With new paint and furniture, it was like a new house! She was concerned that her decorating matched Vippy too much and that he would blend into the surroundings in his photos (I think she was unconsciously inspired by him!). But I love how his neutral colouring works with the soft grays and tans of her new space. It gives his photos a calm feeling, even though he was full of crazy kitten energy!
The best part about the soft tones of Vippy’s images is that the two 20×24 canvases my client ordered will complement her new space perfectly.
Losing a pet is hard, and when it happens so suddenly at a young age, it can make it really difficult to open your heart to another one. I’m happy my client has tangible memories of both her loves, and I just know Vippy will bring lots of joy (and shenanigans!) to her life.
