Prince | Oakville puppy photography
I really love being called by first-time dog owners, especially when there’s a puppy involved! They are just so amazed by the whole experience and I get to see how quickly and hard they’ve fallen in love with dog ownership … it’s the best. When I met doberman Prince for an Oakville puppy photography session, he was 10 weeks old, curious about everything and full of beans. And super cute – he still had to grow into his paws!
He lives in a gorgeous, leafy neighbourhood and is lucky to be neighbours with a lovely couple on multi-acre lot that looks like a park. Turns out Prince had stolen their hearts too and was allowed full access to their property. Heaven.
Puppies are usually rambunctious and don’t want to sit still when there’s so much exploring to do, but Prince was pretty good. We got him to stay still every now and then – between spurts of the zoomies – and by the end of our time together, he was pooped.
Not a park … the neighbour’s side yard!
Back at home … this was the first time ever that Prince was allowed on the couch.
I think he liked it!
Puppies are so fun to be around, but they can be tricky to photograph. They often have their noses to the ground and have no interest in wasting one second looking at the camera, are eating the grass or any other available foliage, or are just so plain excited about everything that they don’t want to sit still. And who can blame them! I just try to roll with it and let them have their fun. When the energy dips every now and then, I’m ready!
I can only imagine how big this guy is now – I’m so happy I got to capture this fleeting puppy stage for his mom and dad because it goes by so fast! It was an honour to preserve these memories, and thanks to wigglebum Prince for sitting still for .02 seconds at our Oakville puppy photography session!
