wojo | kitchener dog photographer
I know, snow on my blog at this time of year? Crazy. My goal was to have all my winter sessions wrapped up and blogged before May, so I’m just squeeking in there!
This handsome fellow is Wojo. He’s a three-year-old golden retriever with bags of energy. Wojo and his owner Ashley do everything together. When the duo moved out west for a period a few years ago, Ashley bought a bigger vehicle so Wojo could be more comfortable for the journey. In fact, these two even recovered from surgery together. Last summer, Ashley had her ninth (!) knee surgery and two weeks later, Wojo tore his ACL and had to have surgery too. They spent the rest of the summer and into the fall doing physiotherapy and gaining their strength back.
We had to reschedule this session several times – we originally had it booked for fall, but had to reschedule once due to rain and then Ashley found out Wojo is allergic to mould, so romping around in damp leaves wasn’t the best idea. Then the frigid temeperatures put us off again. Finally we met up in February! The day was supposed to be overcast and slightly warmer (that means above -10 celsius!), but instead it was super bright and cold. We could only stay outside for about 20 minutes. But we made the most of it!
Wojo loves his ball, and his favourite thing is to “lose” it in the snowbank and then have to dig for it. And dig, and dig …
Thank you Ashley and Wojo for choosing me as your Kitchener dog photographer, and being so patient waiting for your session. And, of course, for freezing your butt and tail off with me!
