Celebrating Odin | Milton dog photography
When I first heard about Odin, it was his age that immediately struck me – eight years old, the same age as my dog Chloe, who is vibrant, energetic and has so much life still to live.
At the young age of eight, Odin is battling bone cancer. He is frail and not so energetic (although he does still love his outside time, even though it’s brief these days). But, as most dogs do, no matter their age, health or circumstance in life, he is bursting with love, personality and the inherent desire to live each day to the fullest.
Last year was tough for Odin’s family. He has been suffering from various ailments since March, including IMHA, pancreatitis (which led to diabetes and blindness) and numerous complications. In the fall he was diagnosed with bone cancer and was given one to three months to live. He has good days and bad days, although laser therapy and alternative medicines are managing the pain and discomfort, and seem to help quite a bit.
Odin is such a cute scruffmuffin (technically a Schnoodle) – he smiles, and when he does, your heart simply bursts with happiness. And before you know it, you are smiling right back.
Whe
When I went back for the family’s consultation, as soon as I rang the doorbell Odin barked and came to meet me at the door, which was so nice to see. When I went back again to drop off their order, Odin had gained one pound! His parents, Steve and Kelly, were just hopeful to spend one more Christmas with their little guy, so everything they have together now is bonus time. I’m so happy I got to meet Odin and experience his sweetness first hand – he truly is a scruffy little ray of light.
