a dog at christmas: chloe’s joy

Golden retriever unwrapping a gift in Milton, Ontario.

Merry Christmas everyone! I hope your holiday was filled with lots of family, friends and smiles. With a two-year-old, our Christmas was pretty special – it’s amazing how seeing the world through his eyes brings back the excitement of Santa and the magic of the season. Chloe and Kitty were not forgotten – I took a few snapshots of Chloe’s joy opening her presents. Hmm, can you tell what her gifts are? It’s fun being a dog at Christmas when you don’t just get one new ball … but six, individually wrapped new balls! Please excuse the dirty, hairy floors. I wish I could say this day was an exception and our house is always clean, but I live with a forever shedding dog and a toddler. It’s a hopeless battle.

What did Santa bring your pet for Christmas? I did learn an important lesson this holiday season … wrapping tennis balls is really hard!
