For the past little while I’ve been trying to think of a way to provide my clients a tangible touchpoint after they book. I always get in touch via email or phone to check-in prior to our session, but I felt like something was missing. One of my own personal pet peeves is when I schedule an important appointment and then never hear from the person or business I booked with — I don’t know if I’m still in their calendar, if they will remember or care that I’m coming or if they are looking forward to my business! I like getting the cute postcard in the mail from my vet reminding me of Chloe’s annual heartworm test — it makes me feel like she is important to them and I have something to stick to my bulletin board as a reminder.

The fact is that as a small business I don’t have a huge budget to produce the printed pieces that I dream of — magazine-style session guides, high-end welcome packages — all those beautiful pieces that I see online. So, I had to get a little creative. With tons of help from my amazing graphic designer/hubby, I came up with one printed item that fills many needs. This new 5×5 trifold client welcome card will be mailed after a client books (provided there is time between booking and our session). It acts as an abbreviated session guide with information about the experience and what to expect, and how clients can prepare for their session. It also includes a section about art for the home, which encourages people to start thinking about how they want to display their images and includes a short list of my product offerings. It also acts as a session reminder card, with a space for the location, time and date of our session on the back flap. And finally, it’s like a mini portfolio of my work that clients can hold in their hands.

My little trifold fills all the needs I was looking for, and I like how environmentally friendly this one hard-working piece is. If you are interested in booking a session, please get in touch!
